Another successful hands-on workshop on different steps of handmade textile production of Lamaholot women from Ile Api, Lembata Regency, Indonesia.
The Senaren Foundation held an immersive workshop on traditional textile-making techniques, scheduled for November 20-22, 2025.
Master weavers from indigenous Lamaholot communities of Ile Api led this three-day intensive program.
Activities:
- Traditional loom setup and operation
- Natural dye preparation from plants
- Pattern design and symbolism
- Spinning and yarn preparation
- Cultural significance of textiles
Workshop Details:
- Date: November 20-22, 2025
- Time: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM daily
- Location: Senaren Cultural Centre
- Fee: 3,000,000 IDR (includes materials)
- Capacity: Limited to 20 participants
