Workshop: Different Steps of Handwoven Textile Production of Ile Api, Lembata Regency

The Senaren Foundation held an immersive workshop on traditional textile-making techniques, scheduled for November 20-22, 2025.

Master weavers from indigenous Lamaholot communities of Ile Api led this three-day intensive program.

• Traditional loom setup and operation
• Natural dye preparation from plants
• Pattern design and symbolism
• Spinning and yarn preparation
• Cultural significance of textiles
